Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is an upcoming Netflix comedy that follows Lars Erickssong (Will Ferrell) and Sigrit Ericksdottir (Rachel McAdams), two small-town Icelandic musicians seizing the chance to fulfil their dreams of competing in the world’s biggest song contest.
Netflix has shared the first song and video clip “Volcano Man”, performed by Ferrell and McAdams (featuring vocals from Will Ferrell and Swedish singer My Marianne), and I think it’s safe to say they have won Eurovision this year. With an authentic Euro synth-pop sound, coupled with silver make up, leather costumes and questionable lyrics, you would not be mistaken to think to yourself “how very Eurovision”. Check out the video clip below. As Mugatu from Zoolander would say “so hot right now”.
Written by Will Ferrell, the movie is due to be released 26 June 2020 on Netflix. The duo are set to be joined by Demi Lovato, Pierce Brosnan, Dan Stevens and more.
