Is there life out there on other planets? It's a universal question that people have been pondering for centuries. According to new research, our own galaxy (the milky way) could be called home to around 36 different civilisations.
One of the main points Christopher Conselice (Astrophysics Professor) makes is that we have only been transmitting radio into our galaxy for the past 100 years. So at that rate, those radio signals would only have traveled 100 light-years. Nowhere near the 1000 light-years to our nearest potentially habitable planet.
