Bundaberg Tartan is set to take centre stage at a major global event when it’s featured in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
The Tartan designed by the late Bundy weaver Jack Allen will feature in next year’s celebration, which has around 100-million global viewers.
The fabric will be used when the event heads to Brisbane in 2026, set to generate $39 million for the state’s economy.
Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett says the link to Bundaberg underscores the regions’ role in celebrating Queensland’s Scottish heritage.
“This is a great opportunity for Queensland to shine on the world stage, and I am thrilled there will be a small link to our diverse region front and centre,” he says.
The Tartan will include seven colours that depict our state including royal blue for our Coral Sea, yellow for our tropical beaches and green for our forests.
