The 2019 Emergency Services Bike 4 Burns fundraising bike ride has been launched this week.

Over 50 riders from the Queensland Police Service, Queensland Fire and Emergency Service and Queensland Ambulance Service started their journey from the Bundaberg Fire Station to South Brisbane to raise awareness and funds supporting research and treatment for children suffering from burns injuries.

Over the next seven days, 650 kilometres will be covered, with riders including our own local Scenes of Crime Officer Sergeant Blane Crozier stopping in Biggenden, Goomeri, Nanango, Crows Nest, Toowoomba, Clifton and Ipswich, finishing at 11.30am Tuesday, May 21 at the Brisbane Children’s Hospital.

Last year over 1,300 children presented at hospital with burn injuries.

Funds raised from this joint emergency services ride will be put to great use, to fund new medical equipment and research through the Children’s Hospital Foundation, helping kids throughout Queensland and New South Wales.

So look out for the fire trucks leading the way for our riders as they come to a town near you.

Stop in to say hello if you see them parked along the way and if you can spare some loose change, a donation to this amazing cause would be greatly appreciated.
