Man Extradited Over Suspicious Disappearance Of Hervey Bay Woman

UPDATE | A Victorian man has arrived in Brisbane, after being extradited over the death of a Hervey Bay woman.

The 44-year-old arrived at Brisbane Airport just after 1:00PM on Tuesday escorted by police according to News Corp. 

The publication is reporting he is expected to be charged with her manslaughter, misconduct with a corpse and stealing.

He was placed in a police car and taken away for questioning according to News Corp.  

EARLIER | Detectives have successfully applied to extradite a 44-year-old Shepparton man to Queensland in relation to the suspicious disappearance of 35-year-old Shae Francis from Hervey Bay.

Operation Romeo Vine was established by officers from Hervey Bay and the Homicide Investigation Unit after Ms Francis was reported missing in March.

The man appeared in Bendigo Court on Monday, and after the extradition was approved, was remanded in custody.

He will be flown to Queensland on Tuesday where he is then expected to be charged and scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The man had earlier been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, interference with a corpse and stealing.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Shae or her disappearance to contact police.

EARLIER | Detectives from the Hervey Bay Criminal Investigations Branch have made an arrest in relation to the suspicious disappearance 35-year-old of Shae Francis.

Shae was last seen in the first week of October visiting a family member at the Hervey Bay Hospital.

Operation Romeo Vine has been established and is being co-ordinated from an Investigation Centre with officers from Hervey Bay and the Homicide Investigation Unit after the 35-year-old was reported missing in March this year.

The man’s arrest by Victoria Police on Friday follows a protracted investigation and he is expected to appear in the Bendigo Magistrates Court this morning.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Shae or her disappearance to contact police.

She is described as Caucasian, approximately 160cm tall with a slim build, blonde hair and blue eyes
