Bargara Hotel Fire Not Deliberately Lit

Bargara Beach Hotel, Bargara, Qld.

Investigations into the Bargara Hotel fire reveal the blaze was not deliberately lit.

The blaze broke out in the early hours of Friday morning in See Street.

Investigators said evidence shows that the hotel was locked and secured with no signs of forced entry. The alarm system was still operating properly and the first alarm activation was near the seat of fire in the centre of the premises.

Police were able to retrieve and review the hotel’s CCTV footage and no one was seen loitering around or inside the building prior to the fire starting.

Initial fire investigations show the fire started somewhere between the gaming room and the temporary kitchen area. Whilst the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, police do not believe the fire is suspicious.
