Appeal For Witnesses After Pedestrian Almost Mowed Down

Bundaberg Police want to hear from anyone who saw a motorist run two red lights and almost mow down a person trying to cross the road last Wednesday.

A grey Holden Captiva SUV was spotted driving east bound on Takalvan Street, Bundaberg after 5:00PM.

It is alleged the vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of Takalvan and Enterprise Street.

The vehicle continued along Takalvan Street, proceeding through a second red light at the intersection of Takalvan and Walker Street colliding with two other vehicles before coming to a stop.

CCTV footage shows the vehicle narrowly avoiding an unidentified pedestrian who was crossing Takalvan Street at the time.

Police are asking for the pedestrian and any members of the community who may have witnessed or have dash cam recordings of the grey Holden Captiva, particularly in relation to the manner of the driving of that vehicle to contact police.

A 23-year-old South Gladstone man has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving a motor vehicle without a licence and driving whilst over the alcohol limit.
