Temperatures have plummeted to single digits in Central Queensland overnight.
The mercury dropped to around 8.9°C in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Bundaberg.
According to BOM, a trough off the east coast would cause lows to dip below 10 degrees until Saturday.
Shane Kennedy from the Bureau of Meteorology said they don't expect any records to fall though.
"Minimums should be well below 10°C across most of the southern and central interior and many locations may see their coldest day of the year so far".
