Fire authorities have warned of "deadlock dangers" as the risk of house fires increase during Winter.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service have plead with locals to upgrade as well as check their smoke alarms, following one house fire in the Bundaberg and Wide Bay region since early June.
QFES Spokesperson Darren Welsh said it's important to be prepared and ensure you are not locked in during a fire emergency
"If you have dead locks fitted that do have keys, when you're in the house keep the key in the lock or on a hook at the centre of the door," Mr Welsh said.
"So when you're in the house you don't have to go searching for the keys to get out."
