Stolen vehicle found in river, Bingerra

Police have launched a search for a driver of a stolen vehicle found submerged in a river in the Bundaberg region.

It is believed the 2002 Toyota Landcruiser station wagon left Cedars Road in South Bingerra at high speed around 6:20am Wednesday morning before crashing into the water.

No one was inside the vehicle when emergency crews arrived to the scene.

Investigators said the car had been stolen from a Childers address a few hours earlier.

The driver of the vehicle is still outstanding.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have been in the area to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers (details below) and make a report.
