We're being reminded to clean up our homes and properties this bushfire season.
A very high fire danger rating is in place for the Wide Bay and Burnett region today and tomorrow, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service Bushfire Mitigation Manager Michael Koch says it's not uncommon for the Spring period.
"It is normal for this time of year," Mr Koch says.
"We're starting to get into those weather patterns where the winds might be picking up a little bit, the temperature is obviously picking up a bit and the relative humidity is going down."
Mr Koch says it's important people prepare their backyards, including cleaning up debris or grass.
"If they've got any fire breaks or fire control lines that need slashing or maintaining, to do those," Mr Koch says.
"Also they need to take special care if they're considering doing any sort of burning, that they certainly need to have a permit to light."
