Man dies following Thabeban crash

Investigations into a fatal crash near Bundaberg are now underway.

Emergency crews were called to the incident on Kay McDuff Drive in Thabeban just after 4pm on Saturday, where Queensland Police say a station wagon crashed into the rear of a detached truck trailer on the shoulder of the road.

Police confirmed today that an 85 year old Avenell Heights man, the driver and sole occupant of the station wagon, died shortly after arriving at Bundaberg Hospital.

Any witnesses are being urged to contact police and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
