Fake SA cops charged after driver 'fined'

Two men have been charged with impersonating police officers, after a driver was handed a fake fine in Adelaide, driven to a petrol station and forced to withdraw money.

The duo are accusing of pulling over drivers at West Lakes, Royal Park and Marion on Thursday and Friday while purporting to be police, with one man made to hand over cash.

A 28-year-old and 34-year-old are set to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday charged with impersonating a police officer, with the latter also charged with unlawful detention, aggravated robbery and driving while disqualified.
