Gaming Update | 'Exploding Kittens' Mobile App Review
Welcome to the new series of "Mobile Must Plays" where we look at Mobile games new and old that are the best downloads for your device.
It seems like there are millions of games available for your device, so we are playing them all and picking out the best ones for you.
This time, it's Exploding Kittens. Based on the popular card game "Exploding Kittens" is now a popular mobile app game available on android.
The card game was the most-funded game in Kickstarter history and was created by Elan Lee, Mathew Inman and Shane Small.
The basic idea of the game is that people draw cards in a Russian roulette type format until someone draws an "Exploding Kitten" that knocks them out of the game unless they can counter it with a defuse cards, like a laser pointer, belly rub or catnip sandwiches. The other cards in the game are used to move around and avoid the potential exploding kittens in an almost UNO way.
The game is a paid app but will only set you back around $2.89 Australian.
The Android version of the game perfectly captures the spirit of the original card game and even adds a little more in the form of extra cards exclusive to the app.
The quirky cat-based artwork is really fun and drawn by "The Oatmeal" artist Matthew Inman who is just a genius.
The main bit of advice for new players is to give it time, you may not master it on your first or second attempt, but when you finally get it you won't want to put it down.
It’s best played in multiplayer with your friends, but there’s a singleplayer mode to get loads of practice in before you do.
