Ozark’s ending is getting closer and closer… and perhaps, too, is the ending for a major character.
Netflix has just released a clip announcing the final episodes of the hit crime show will premiere on April 29th.
And there are hints that one of the main characters will die in the seven-episode wrap-up.
“The end arrives. Sooner than you think” it says in the clip, which is all about Ruth.
This is a clever reference to the fact that these Part 2 episodes are coming sooner than anticipated (it was going to be later in the year).
But we can’t help but think it means an unexpected ending for someone too.
It feels like every major character has narrowly escaped death at some point in the series, none more so than Marty and Wendy Byrde and their two children as they launder money for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico.
But of course the real danger lies in dealing with locals Ruth Langmore and Darlene Snell, who are just as terrifying as drug lord Omar Navarro.

Both women are capable of doing anything. And if you’ve seen Part 1 of Season 4, you’ll know that Ruth in particular is in a pretty emotional state by the end with nothing to lose.

But the big hint about who might die comes from the artwork for the final episodes. It features a blue sky with three birds flying. Could the Byrde family unit be about to lose one from its flock?

Fans are used to following the clues, with the icons at the start of every episode giving hints about what’s to come. So maybe there’ll be more clues in each of the final episodes too.
Does anyone else try and analyze the icons at the beginning of every #Ozark episode?

Or maybe it will come suddenly, out of the blue! Like that blue sky in the artwork…
Season 4 Part 2 premieres on April 29. Mark your calendars!
