Sony has finally announced that the PlayStation 5 will arrive November 12th for the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Mexico and South Korea markets but the rest of the world will get it around a week later on November 19th.
Along with the release date comes the price announcement with the various versions of the console. The Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive retailing for USD $499, while the Digital Edition goes for USD $399.
Both versions of the console go on sale from the day one launch.
The company also used the presentation to showcase a variety of Playstation Exclusives and while there was a bit of new footage there wasn't a lot of new news apart from a few announcements like the “Harry Potter” inspired game “Hogwarts Legacy,” and few sequels including “Final Fantasy XVI: Awakening” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach”.
In Australia the console will have a RRP of $749.95 for the Disc version and $599.95 for the Digital Version, so similar pricing to Xbox Series X for the top of the range consoles, while the Digital Only versions will see Sony's be $100 dearer.
