Lindsay Lohan is set to return to Australian TV screens in 2021, with the 34-year-old actress and singer confirming the news in a text message.
Lohan originally appeared as a judge on Season 1 on The Masked Singer Australia in 2019, alongside the original line-up of judges consisting of Jackie O, Dannii Minogue, and Dave Hughes.
The 'Rumors' singer was replaced by comedian Urzila Carlson in the second season due to the travel restrictions placed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The season two debut was down 37% in ratings, with season one having a viewership of 1.2 million and this year's season two only having 733,000 in comparison.
Throughout the year, the Mean Girls star has been in contact with the show’s team expressing her interest in returning. Channel 10’s head of entertainment Stephen Tate said:
"She has been in touch throughout this whole thing. Of course, we would love to have her back."
On November 15, it was revealed that Lohan is set to appear on season 3 next year. In a conversation with Abbey Mikkelsen, a producer on ‘The Ben, Rob & Robbo Internet Show’ Mikkelsen, Lohan confirms “I will be back in Australia for season 3.”
