Robin Williams’ son, Zak, has paid tribute to his dad on the 7th anniversary of his death.
In a post on Twitter, Zak remembered his dad’s laughter and joy.
“Dad, seven years ago today you passed on. The joy and inspiration you brought to the world carries on in your legacy and in your family, friends, and fans you so loved. You lived to bring laughter and to help others. I will be celebrating your memory today. Love you forever.”

Daughter Zelda also tweeted, saying the loss was hard to bear but said it helped to know she wasn’t alone.
Sending love out there today to all the folks navigating loss. New, old, the connective tissue of that deeply human pain can be hard to bear, but I find it easier sometimes knowing how many others have felt the same sting.— Zelda Williams (@zeldawilliams) August 11, 2021
We’re not alone. X

Never has so much kindness and humility been found in one man.
I join you in celebrating your father's life today. ❤
When the Twitter question is asked, which celebrity death made you the saddest, I always respond, Robin Williams. I'm 68, so there have been a lot. He was just extra special.— tags7453🇺🇸Pets leave pawprints on our hearts🐕🐱 (@tags7453) August 11, 2021

He was truly an amazing person and shined a light on so many. He will be forever loved and his legacy will carry on. 💖— Alliicat ;) (@AliDntBScared) August 11, 2021
Williams was just 63 when he took his own life in 2014. It was later revealed he was battling a degenerative condition called Lewy Body Dementia.
As a 51 year old well into my Lewy Body Dementia journey, I hope you know he was saving himself and his loved ones the pain of watching him die again and again. I wish you peace and also thank Robin for his gift that he shared with the world.— Rick (@BandMan1970) August 11, 2021
From Good Will Hunting, Night at the Museum, Mrs Doubtfire and Jumanji to Patch Adams, Good Morning Vietnam and Mork and Mindy plus many more in between… what is your favourite Robin Williams movie?
And did you know this little fact about Patch Adams? What a legend.
A little background - the girl in this photo (& all the kids in film) are actually wish children. Robin insisted they not be actors -but real kids battling cancer, etc.— Patricia Suflita Wilson (@pilarwish) August 11, 2021
That young lady beat her cancer & I was invited to her wedding just a few years ago.Thank you for what you do!
