Job seekers in the Bundaberg and Wide Bay regions are set to benefit from a new fund aimed at helping them upskill and secure employment.
The State Government is announcing the recipients of the first-ever round of the Skilling Queenslanders for Work fund, totalling more than $4 million.
Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett said the investment is good news for his electorate.
“This is about giving people the chance to learn on the job, earn qualifications and walk straight into industries that need them,” Mr Bennett said.
“When our local employers are crying out for skilled workers, this is the kind of practical support that helps fill those gaps and grow our economy.”
One of the local recipients is Impact Community Services, which will receive funding for the Skilling Bundy and Future Skillz projects, aiding 70 disadvantaged job seekers.
While 40 young jobseekers part of Yourtown’s CAEM digital marketing project will also receive a boost thanks to the funding.
