The State Labor Government has announced a $20 million upgrade of the Bundaberg Police Station.

It says it will deliver additional space to accommodate future growth as police undertake the biggest recruitment drive in Queensland’s history.

The Bundaberg region continues to grow as the state experiences major interstate and international migration.

“For the North Coast, including Bundaberg, there will be almost 100 extra police patrolling the streets over the next three years,” says Premier Steven Miles.

“That means Queenslanders here will be safer and feel safe.

“As the growing force needs a bigger station to work from. It’s why we are delivering a $20 million upgrade to the Bundaberg Police Station.”

Bundaberg MP Tom Smith says after meeting with police regularly, he knows a major upgrade is needed.

“This investment has been a subject that I have fought hard to deliver on behalf of our local Police and am glad to be able to deliver on a project that will service those who serve us each and every day,” he says.

“I am proud to be part of a government that backs police with the personnel, resources and facilities and infrastructure they need to protect the community.”
