21 people charged following Bundaberg drug raids

A three-day police operation has resulted in 21 people being charged with a total of 87 offences.

Between July 5 and July 7, detectives from the Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and officers from the State Crime and Intelligence Command (CIC) apprehended several individuals involved in drug-related offences.

The operation specifically targeted offenders engaged in the use, supply and distribution of Ice and Cannabis within the Bundaberg area.

A 20-year-old Avoca man is due on the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Monday.

His charges include Trafficking Dangerous Drugs (Methyl amphetamines), Trafficking Dangerous Drugs (Cannabis), Possessing Dangerous Drugs (Methyl amphetamines), Possessing Dangerous Drugs (Cannabis), Possessing Property Suspected of Being Proceeds of a Crime and Possessing Utensils.

A 33-year-old from Thabeban is facing similar charges.

While a 22-year-old from Bundaberg North has been charged with three counts of Possessing Dangerous Drugs (Methylamphetamine, Cocaine & Cannabis) each exceeding Schedule 3, seven further counts of Possessing Dangerous Drugs (Chlomethcathinone, MDMA, LSD, Xanax, Oxazepam, Quetiapine & Tetrahydrocannabinol), Possessing Property Acquired from a Drug Offence (cash), Possessing Utensils and a further count of Possessing Explosives (fireworks). He is scheduled to appear at the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on September 11.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Bishop, Officer in Charge, Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch expressed the necessity of this targeted operation.
