Relief for Coonarr residents following an anxious Monday afternoon.
Some were forced to evacuate around 1pm as a large bushfire came dangerously close to properties.
The emergency level was dropped to ‘Return with Caution’ around 3pm.
A ‘Stay Informed’ warning is in place for the broader Kinkuna area as of Tuesday morning.
The bushfire is within containment lines and is expected to burn for several days.
Just as the fire was brought under control, fire fighters were called to another blaze.
A large grass fire quickly spread through bushland at Norville, closing Kay McDuff Drive into the night.
Games were called off at the nearby Waves Sports Complex.
Residents who live near either of the fires are advised to stay across all of the warnings and to keep their doors and windows shut to reduce smoke impacts.
