Two Bundaberg region show societies will be set for a $3,846 boost in their funding this year.
It’s part of the state government’s Show Societies Grants Program – worth over half a million dollars.
All of Queensland’s 129 societies – including the Bundaberg and Isis District societies – will receive an equal share of the funds, on top of their historical annual allocation.
Volunteers Minister Ann Leahy said the support was well overdue.
“Queenslanders mark Ag Shows in their calendars months in advance, and I’m glad to ensure this tradition can continue for generations to come,” Ms Leahy said.
While the leader of the state body for agricultural shows welcomes the move.
“The importance of agricultural shows to Queensland’s communities cannot be overstated,” David Wilson said.
