Large haul of allegedly stolen property seized

Five Bundaberg North men have allegedly been busted with a large amount of suspected stolen items.

On September 1, police attended a home in relation to information received that several people were involved in a number of shop stealing offences around the Bundaberg region over the past four weeks.

When they arrived police allegedly located a large amount of suspected stolen property.

The property included a large volume of clothing and footwear in both adult and children sizing, large quantities of perfume, watches and chocolates.

Police charged a 32-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, a 40-year-old man, a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old man with one count each of unlawful possession of suspected stolen property.

It comes as the latest Queensland Police data shows theft is increasing again.

182 of the offences were recorded in August, which is up 28 per cent compared to the previous month.
