A major funding boost for community groups and sporting clubs across the state with more than $16-million in grants from the Queensland Government.
The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is the state’s largest stand-alone grants program with more than 2,000 applicants in the latest round.
Locally The Lions Club of Bundaberg has been awarded 34-thousand dollars for the purchase of new equipment, appliances and a truck.
Attorney-General Deb Frecklington says the record-breaking interest in the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund demonstrated its importance in local communities.
“These grants are a huge benefit across Queensland’s towns, rural centres and cities, and they can be a lifeline for organisations that are doing it tough,” she says.
