A man has been winched to safety after he was injured in a motorbike incident in the Fraser Coast region.

It’s believed he was riding on a dirt road with his friend when he hit a fallen tree along the track on Saturday.

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew was called to the scene just before midday.

Due to the dense bushland it was decided it was best to winch the patient out.

The critical care doctor and flight paramedic were winched down to the ground, where the aeromedical crew treated the man for a broken arm, before preparing him to be hoisted up into the helicopter in a stretcher.

The man, who is aged in his 60s, was flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
