Speed limits are set to be reduced at two locations in the Bundaberg region.

Transport and Main Roads has responded to community requests to reduce speeds from 100km/hr to 80km/hr at a section of the Bundaberg Ring Road and a section of Goodwood Road.

It includes the section along Bundaberg Ring Road between Goodwood Road and Kay McDuff Drive, Thabeban and Goodwood Road between Langbeckers and the Thomasens Road and Douglas Road intersection.

The new speed limits have been endorsed by the local Speed Management Committee, comprising representatives from TMR, local government and Queensland Police.

Transport and Main Roads Regional Director (Southern Queensland Region) Bill Lansbury says the speed limit changes have been endorsed after considering several factors.

“TMR undertook a review of the speed limit at both locations, taking into consideration a range of factors such as road function, roadside environment, road construction standards, prevailing traffic speeds and crash history.

“The new signs are expected to be installed within the coming months, weather and other conditions permitting.

“I encourage all motorists to observe the new speed limit signage and to always drive to the conditions.”
