Three teens have been arrested following a wild joyride that spanned over 500 kilometres.
It’s alleged the trio stole a BMW from Brisbane on Monday night , which was later spotted driving erratically on the Bruce Highway.
On Tuesday afternoon, police say they saw the group of teens driving dangerously in Childers, Gin Gin and Miriam Vale.
It’s alleged the BMW stopped at a Benaraby caravan park, where an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were attempting to steal another car, while allegedly armed with a replica firearm.
The pair fled the caravan park in the BMW while an 18-year-old woman ran off on foot. She was arrested by police.
Police say the two males then abandoned the BMW at a service station in Benaraby and allegedly stole a 2011 Proton Gen.2.
The Proton travelled southbound towards Gin Gin on the Bruce Highway before police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device.
The 18-year-old was taken into custody while the 17-year-old left the scene on foot and allegedly attempted to steal two more vehicles, but was unsuccessful.
The dog squad was deployed, and the boy was located nearby and taken into custody.
An 18-year-old Redcliffe woman was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is due to face the Gladstone Magistrates Court in February.
Meantime the 18-year-old Boondall man was charged with more than 15 counts including armed robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon.
His bail was refused and he faced the Bundaberg Magistrates Court yesterday.
The 17-year-old Chermside boy was also charged with more than 10 counts including stealing and attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He’s been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Bundaberg Children’s Court.
