For years, fans have been buzzing about a potential Spice Girls reunion, and now, Mel C (Sporty Spice) is adding fuel to the fire, insisting that the iconic girl group must reunite in 2026.
While backstage at this year’s iHeartRadio Z100 Jingle Ball, Mel C was asked about the possibility of a reunion. She shared, “My thoughts are it has to happen. It has to happen! ‘Wannabe’ is 30 next July, and we have to celebrate it some way. And I can’t think of a better way than getting on stage.”
New Music from Mel C
Beyond the reunion talks, Mel C also discussed her new music, including her latest single, “Sweat.” The track features a sample of Diana Ross’s classic hit, “Work That Body.”
“There’s a fantastic sample from the beautiful and wonderful Diana Ross — I have a sample from ‘Work That Body,'” she explained. “All these things have just come together and created this. For me, it’s a bit of a new sound, but I feel like it’s the right sound for me.”
The new single reflects Mel C’s personal growth and her experience as a DJ. “I wanted to have a little bit more fun with my music. I’ve been DJing for about eight years now, so I wanted to bring my pop music a bit closer to the house music that I play when I’m out in the clubs,” she said.
