Prime Video has just confirmed that the Reacher universe is expanding, and it is bringing one of the most compelling characters in the franchise, Frances Neagley, to the forefront.

For fans of Lee Child’s best-selling novels, the news that Maria Sten will reprise her role in a dedicated spin-off, Neagley, is massive. The streaming service officially announced that the series will make its debut on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

The release schedule is cleverly designed to keep the momentum going. Reacher Season Four is set to return to our screens on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, dropping the first three episodes immediately. Following that, fans can expect weekly instalments until the season finale.

Then the entire eight-episode run of Neagley will be released on the very same day the Reacher season concludes: September 16, 2026. Prime Video is clearly betting on the appetite for this specific brand of high-stakes, military-informed investigative drama.

What to Expect from Neagley

While Jack Reacher often operates as a nomadic force of nature, Frances Neagley’s approach is distinctly different. As a private investigator based in Chicago and a former protégé of Reacher’s from the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit, she brings a meticulous, analytical edge to the table.

The series kicks off with a personal mission. When Neagley discovers that a beloved friend from her past has died under highly suspicious circumstances, she naturally takes it upon herself to find the truth. The narrative promises to follow her as she navigates a dangerous path, utilising the unique skillset she honed in the military to dismantle a much larger, more menacing threat.

The Cast and Creative Team

Maria Sten is joined by a solid ensemble cast, including Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley, Adeline Rudolph as Renee Birdwhistle, Jasper Jones as Keno, Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow, and Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole.

Crucially, for those hoping to see the connection remain strong, Alan Ritchson will make a guest appearance, reprising his role as Jack Reacher.

Behind the camera, the series is in safe hands. It is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, with Nick Santora, who has been instrumental in the success of the Reacher series serving as co-showrunner alongside Nicholas Wootton. With Lee Child himself listed as an executive producer, there is every reason to believe the series will retain the grit and pace that established the franchise as a global hit.
