The next James Bond film might be sooner than you think.
The last James Bond film was released back in 2021 (was it really that long ago I seriously thought it was last year?!) with No Time To Die which closed the book on the Daniel Craig run as bond and gave us our first onscreen death of James Bond.
But it seems like you won’t have to wait too much longer for more James Bond, as it was announced today that Amazon has found its newest director to take on the next film. It appears that it is none other than Dune director Denis Villeneuve has been signed on to direct the currently unnamed James Bond film. In a statement Denis Villeneuve said:
“Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr. No with Sean Connery… I’m a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he’s sacred territory. I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honour.”
There has been no other news about what the next James Bond film will entail, we are yet to know who will be taking the keys of the Aston Martin from Daniel Craig. News which I suspect we mightn’t have to wait too much longer for now.
