A young boy has escaped uninjured after a dingo mouthed him on the back of the leg at K’gari.

The 10-year-old was playing in a lagoon at Waddy Point yesterday, when he was approached by the animal.

It comes just days after a 6-year-old girl was injured after being attacked by a dingo on Monday at the same location.

The 6-year-old suffered minor bites to her head and hands and was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital.

Ranger in charge Jenna Tapply is reminding parents to keep a close eye on their children.

“Keep your kids close and we’re talking within arms reach and to be aware of the surroundings, so making sure you’re aware of what’s around, whether that’s dingoes or vehicles,” she says.

“Just be aware and keep those kids close.”
