Stolen tools linked to fatal fire

Police have issued a fresh appeal for public assistance as they continue to investigate a fatal shed fire at Pacific Haven early lat year.

At around 1.35am on February 18, emergency services attended a fire in a small ‘donga’ style structure located on Pacific Haven Drive.

The residence was completed destroyed. A subsequent search located the body of a 50-year-old man who lived there, Damian Ramsay.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding Mr Ramsay’s death have revealed that a quantity of power tools were stolen from a shed situated around 60 metres from the residence between 2pm on February 17 and 1.35am on February 18.

Police now believe these tools have been sold to unsuspecting persons in the Wide Bay area around that time.

Anyone who purchased second hand power tools in the Wide Bay area, specifically around Howard/Pacific Haven early last year, 2022, is urged to contact police immediately.
